Treats for appetites of every size
Before I get into this post, I just want to say Happy Father’s Day to my amazing dad. I had grand designs to use my post this week to share one of his secret recipes, but, realistically, I shouldn’t make an entire batch of pancakes just for myself. So instead I hope he’s ok with a shout out.
About two hours ago my Dad called me. He was upset because he had gone to our favorite bakery to get a half moon cookie, only to find they are closed on Sundays, causing him to settle for Dairy Queen instead. Funny enough, as he called to tell me this, I was in the middle of frosting half moon cookies of my own.
This weekend, I was fortunate enough to be able to go back home to Massachusetts to celebrate my grandmother’s eightieth birthday party with a large group of our family. I was even more fortunate to be asked to make the cake. You see, a couple summers ago I took a Wilton cake decorating class with my mom. We learned how to make all sorts of things and were definitely the superior mother-daughter team in the class.
